Some thoughts on acting...
Acting and TV presenting is the focus for me at the moment. Don't get me wrong, writing is wonderful and I would never be without it. Playing music likewise and the reaction to both of those pursuits from the general public - in whatever form - is unbelievably rewarding. Being in front of a camera or audience however, has always felt like the proper job, the purpose, the meaning if you will and certainly the one in which I’m most comfortable.
It's ironic therefore that I've spent a good deal of my working life not acting. Having an interest in Geology at school I drifted into the oil industry where upon, discovering I was rather good at it and that it paid rather well, I remained. I must point out however, in my defence, that even when involved in oil exploration in the Middle East, I was constantly on the lookout for an opportunity to perform, be it in pantomime, amateur dramatics or a boardroom presentation.
